Tutorial: Stepper Card

BLOG_IG_LOVE CARDS 2_058

I’m up early over here at our California office, so I though I’d share another tutorial with my new Love & Romance range! Today I’m sharing how you can use metal dies as a stencil – this technique works great with our intricate dies!

BLOG_IG_LOVE CARDS 2_059

Step 1: Trim card to fit the sides and front of stepper card.

For the large front panel, trim an extra piece of card to matt & layer. Emboss this panel using Fluttering Hearts embossing folder.

Next, distress along the edges of all panels and transfer Victorian Velvet distress ink around the all sides. Affix panels to card front.

Step 2: Die-cut two Lace Hearts. Use Stick & Spray on the reverse side of die-cut, place on to white card and transfer distress ink all over, using the die as a stencil.

Next, using the stencil print die-cut two irregular hearts from the pattern.

Then die-cut two more irregular hearts from white car. While heart die is still in the card, transfer distress ink through.

Step 3: Using the scalloped outer Lace Heart die, die-cut using white card and affix the pre-inked lace heart die-cut (from Step 2) on to the scalloped heart.

Attach to the back side step of stepper card and attach the other lace heart (from Step 2) to the card front.

Step 4: Die-cut ‘I Love You’ and transfer distress ink through the die (I’m using it as a stencil again here). Affix to card front with the smaller heart dies to finish.

Tip: Don`t be afraid to use dies as a stencil! They are great with ink, gilding wax, chalks and sprays!

I used these supplies on this card (I’ll be back to add links to the Love and Romance goodies as soon as they’re available on our website!):
