Wedding season is upon us and no doubt, you’ve already noticed some fantastic themes and trends that have popped up this year. Whether you’re a Bridesmaid, Bride or a very keen Groom – your wedding planning will be well under way so we thought we’d do a roundup of our favourite trends and show you how Crafter’s Companion can help you get creative, personal and save a few pennies on the run up to the big day!
Pops of colour
We’re all a fan of pastels and blush palettes – they’re a firm favourite of any bride. However, this year, couples will be feeling brighter and bolder and will be adding pops of colour into their day. Whether it be eye catching bouquets, a dazzling hair piece, vibrant invitations or flashes of colour on the cake. Look out for shades of coral, yellow and orange as well as deeper, darker jewel tones that are making an appearance this wedding season!
Our Spectrum Noir range is perfect to create watercolour brights and pastels, take a look at the range and the card needed for these creations:
Rustic Chic
The rustic wedding trend is here to stay, but 2016 will see a much more glamorous spin on this popular theme. Couples are opting for nature inspired decor mixed with modern glam. Rustic tipi’s are popping up along our countryside, adorned with vintage bunting and sparkling chandeliers hanging from their beams. Flowers are becoming more and more organic too – look out for farm to table bouquets, greenery and herbs that ooze rustic charm. Hessian, rope, cream lace and Kraft card will help you create such rustic and countrified wedding stationary.
We know this is a huge trend – we have so many materials on our website, browse through the below for the essentials and fab extras to create this look:
Metallics
Metallic colour palettes are making a welcome come back in 2016. From warm golds to brushed bronzes and gleaming copper, you’ll find the gleaming colours of metal in linens, sequin accents on the dresses to metallic flourishes on the wedding cake! We’ve heard foil is in – think invitations, menus, escort cards, table numbers, and anything else where paper is involved! Think, elegant, old school Hollywood glamour meets modern day glitz!

Vintage
Vintage wedding themes are popular almost every year. Lace, sequins, pearls and shimmer will complement the glistening disco balls and scream 1920’s Gatsby Glamour. Stationary should echo the art deco era, which means a lot daring colours such as black, red and gold and intricate borders and shapes. Or you may see more pastel colour schemes with neutrals to accent such as chocolate brown for a more romantic, timeless vintage theme.
