Do you know anyone who loves their handbags? Maybe has a few of them ……. What a fabulous card this would make for them! Diana takes you step by step, showing you how to use the corner dies to create this effect! Don’t just use them for cards they would make great party invitations too!
Have fun making some, let’s get started!
Crafter’s Companion Supplies:
Other Supplies: Pearl string, pearls, charm, jump rings and a magnetic catch.
Directions:
Step 1: Take an A3 sheet of Centura Pearl card and cut down to 7 ½”, keeping the full length.
Step 2: Score along the length @ 3”, 8 ½”, 9 ¾”, 11”.
Step 3: Lay the Toulouse die with the non-cutting edge along the 3” score line and position the corner dies tight into the corner edge of the 8 ½” & 11” score lines.
Step 4: Cut the opposite 2 corners to give you the layout shown above.
Step 5: Round off the top of the handbag from the Toulouse die down to the Lace corner on all four sides then cut between the two corresponding lace corners across what will be the base of the handbag.
Step 6: Add an insert panel inside the card. I used the Cameo Stamping Frame die with some Fresh Pink Centura Pearl card for a subtle contrast.
Step 7: Add a small magnet to the Toulouse handbag flap to act as a closure. A Velcro dot would also work equally well.
Step 8: Add a handle, if required, with a string of beads, cord or ribbon and decorate the bag to taste.
