How To Make A Handmade ‘Happy Father’s Day’ Card Featuring A Gift Token

Celebrate Father’s Day in style with help from the Modern Masculine collection CD – available with Issue 18 of Crafter’s Inspiration magazine (available to buy here).

Simply follow our guidance on how to make this lovely ‘Happy Father’s Day’ card, which, features a gift token to surprise your dad with, on his special day.

You will need:

Modern Masculine collection from your CD

Printable Light Card

Kraft cardstock

Tea Dye Ranger Tim Holtz

Distress Ink

Red Liner tape

3D foam pads

All Purpose Glue

Computer & printer

Craft knife

Ink-blending tool

1) Score a 29×12.5cm piece of kraft cardstock at 12cm, 14cm and 17cm.

Fold the score lines so that the centre line is a mountain fold and ink the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink using an ink-blending tool.

2) Use a craft knife to cut a small rectangle measuring approximately 9×0.3cm in the middle of the centre score line. Affix Red Liner tape along the edges of the reverse of the card, ensuring that there’s enough room for the gift token to sit in, and secure.

3) Print patterned papers from the Modern Masculine collection on your CD onto Printable Light Card, cut two 12×11.5cm panels and a third piece measuring 12x2cm from it.

Cut two 12x3cm strips from a co-ordinating paper and build all of the pieces inside the card base.

4) Cut a 12×12.5cm panel of paper, ink the edges and mount it onto the card front. Use your chosen software to resize a sentiment frame topper, print and cut it out.

Ink the edges and colour the detail using a brown pen before securing it to the card front using 3D foam pads.
