Build-A-Block Curves™ – Bay Leaf Cushion

Taylor Usry – 08/04/19

This is the second step-by-step guide in our dedicated Build-A-Block™ Curves project series, to help inspire you and illustrate the versatility of this amazing system…

We have chosen complementary fabrics for this project, but feel free to select your own colour choices or even use up your old scraps!

You will need

Cutting preparation

  • Cut a backing panel measuring 16.5” x 16.5” from yellow fabric.
  • Die-cut 16 medium petals
  • Die-cut 32 medium comers

Step 1

Sew a medium corner right sides together to either side of a medium petal. Repeat this process 15 more times

Step 2

Now all your block pieces are sewn together, sew them into four rows of four blocks

Step 3

Sew all four rows right sides together lengthway

Step 4

Place the cushion front and backing panel right sides together and sew around all four edges leaving a 3” turning gap in one side.

Step 5

Turn the cushion cover through the turning gap left in Step 4. Fill the cushion with toy stuffing and close the turning gap in the seam by hand.

Make sure you tune in next week for another project!
