The end of May was quite the whirlwind time for us here at Crafter’s Companion! In amongst some incredible launches and massive Facebook Lives, we managed to win two awards in the space of the week! This is such an amazing achievement and we’re so proud to be adding to our trophy cabinet.
On Thursday 23rd, we were named as International Business of the Year at the Federation of Small Businesses’ (FSB) national awards ceremony. We originally won the regional award at the FSB’s North East ceremony in March, so to progress and win the International award is absolutely unbelievable!
The event, which was in its second year, celebrates the best small businesses and self-employed business owners across the UK, and we were up against over 2,000 organisations. You can imagine just how excited we were to hear our names called as the winner!
Our founder and creative director, Sara Davies, said, “The FSB Awards celebrate everything that’s great about small businesses. There were so many exceptional finalists in our category, so I am delighted that we were acknowledged as the International Business of the Year. The resilience and devotion demonstrated by our staff on a regular basis have enabled our business to achieve substantial growth in our export capabilities, so it’s testament to them that this has been recognised on a national scale.
“For me, the FSB Awards reinforced what a great place the North East is to do business. With three winners originating from the North East, our region was most successful on the night and that makes me immensely proud.”
If that wasn’t enough, the following Sunday we were placed 73rd in the Sunday Times Lloyds SME Export Track 100 list! This list ranks Britain’s 100 small and medium-sized companies with the fastest growing international sales throughout the last two years and it’s the fourth time that we’ve been acknowledged in this prestigious table, following our ranking at 31 last year and at 52 in 2017.
By the time the next SME Export Track 100 list rolls around, we’ll have surpassed the sales limit, which means that we’ll be applying in the Sunday Times International Track 200 instead! You’ll have to keep your eyes peeled for that announcement and keep your fingers crossed for us!
We know we sound a bit like a broken record when we say this, but it’s because of you, our amazing customers, that we are able to gain such high achievements. If we didn’t have the unwavering and fierce support that you give us, we wouldn’t be the company that we are today! We promise to continue providing you with the best offers, innovative products and top quality customer service possible, and we’ll see where the rest of the year takes us!
