Gingerbread Layering Background Stamp card

Crafter's Companion – 21/11/19

One of the best things about Christmas is the sweet treats. There’s Christmas pudding, mince pies and of course, gingerbread! With our fantastic Christmas Background Layering Stamps, you can bring a touch of these delicious festive snacks to your projects, especially with the Jolly Gingerbread set. It contains three stamps to help you create a background with a 3D gingerbread biscuit effect – ideal for the season!

This card puts these stamps to good use, pairing up these spicy ginger figures with orange ribbon and a poinsettia, adding a fun contrast. The steps are super easy to follow, so this is a great project for beginners too!

You will need:

Step 1

Cut a piece of kraft cardstock to 18cm x 18cm. Apply the liner tape on the back of the orange ribbon and affix to the right side of the cardstock in stripes, then attach this panel to your card blank.

Step 2

Create the stamped piece by placing the stamp on the stamping platform. Tap the first layer of the background stamp with the Sandstorm Harmony Quick-Dry Dye Inkpad and stamp over the Stamping Card.

Step 3

Add the second layer of your stamped image with Red Chinese and the third layer with Friar Brown. Cut the piece down, leaving a 5mm white border. Attach this to the main panel in the empty space of the kraft cardstock.

Step 4

Die-cut a poinsettia with a piece of cream card from the Poinsettia Perfection Paper Pad. Add a bit of shimmer to the flower by applying the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Clear Overlay Pen.

Step 5

Choose a decorative sentiment from the Poinsettia Perfection Paper Pad. Add foam pads on to the back and affix close to the die-cut poinsettia to finish.

We hope that you’ve enjoyed this festive make! This is a fun and easy card to recreate, but we’re excited to see how you make it your own.
