
A handmade gift box is perfect for small gifts, party favours and even a few baked treats! Find out how to craft and decorate an elegant gift box with a lid to impress family, friends and party guests alike.
We’ve used the Nature’s Garden Delightful Daisies collection for this project. Bright, fresh and filled with daisies, this collection is perfect for spring and summer-themed makes!

You will need:
- Nature’s Garden Delightful Daisies:
- Spectrum Noir Classique alcohol markers:
- Collall All-Purpose Glue
- Collall Tacky Glue
- Red-Liner Tape – 3mm and 6mm width
- Die cutting machine
- Scoring board and tool
- Guillotine
Step-by-step instructions:
Box lid:

- Cut a piece of white linen card to 1 ¾” x 1 ¾” to form the box base.

2. Next, cut a piece of white linen card to 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” and score at ½” on all 4 sides.
3. Use scissors to trim into where the score lines cross in all four corners to remove four right-angled triangles.
4. Now, take a piece of patterned paper and cut to measure 1 3/8” x 1 3/8”.
5. Choose a sheet of linen card and cut to measure 1 5/8” x 1 5/8”.Now, take a piece of patterned paper and cut to measure 1 3/8” x 1 3/8”.

6. Layer the patterned paper on top of the linen card piece to create a mat.
7. Glue to the centre of the box lid.
8. Next, add red liner tape onto the four tabs of the box lid and fold together to build.
9. For decoration, take a piece of ribbon, tie into a box and glue to the centre of the box lid.
Box:
- First, take a piece of white linen card and cut to 6 ¾” x 7 ½”.
- Next, score at 1 ¾”, 3 ½”, 5 ¼” and 7”.
- Turn the cardstock 90° to the right and score at ½”.

4. Trim into the tabs as shown so that the box will fold more neatly.
4. Time for some die cutting! Line up the Spring Border die onto one of the box sides, leaving an equal gap between the die and the bottom and sides. Run through your die cutting machine.

5. Repeat with the remaining four box sides.
6. Use your markers to add colour to the centre of each die-cut daisy flower. Use the darker colour around the edge to add depth and dimension.
7. Next, cut four pieces of vellum to 1 ½” x 5 ¾”.
8. Use red-liner tape to adhere your vellum pieces behind each die-cut box panel.
9. Add red-liner tape to the side tab and use to fold and secure the box together.
10. Stick red-liner tape the four tabs at the bottom of the box, fold together to construct the box base.
Decorations:
- Die cut two of the smaller daisys from the Blossoming Daisies set using vellum sheets.
- Use yellow linen card to die cut the flower centre and green linen card to die cut the leaves.
- Build your daisy flower, arranging the leaves underneath, and use glue to attach to the box.
- Die cut a Spring Accessories butterfly from linen card and glue to the box to embellish.
