Meet the artist - Acmefourtune
Sharp lines, bright reds and an eye for detail, 21-year-old Indonesian graffiti artist acmefourtune has a recognisable style, led by personality and inspired by nature.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background as an artist
My name is Juan Atima, I’m better known as acmefourtune with my international graffiti crew (LRS-WSL-TUK).
I believe that different hand styles betray elements of their owners’ emotional landscapes, putting personality traits subconsciously on display.
I only use the letters A, C, M and E. They form the foundation for my work. ‘Acme’ is a Greek word meaning peak or great. ‘Four’ symbolises balance and stability and the ‘Tune’ is for harmony. The three combined create the peak of the four tunes of harmony.
I love innovation as well. I’m still very young and don’t have a lot of experience but I still have many opportunities to make my nation, Indonesia, proud of its future in my own way and with my friends. Graffiti is my chance to grab this opportunity.
Which medium do you work with the most and why?
I would describe my style as Semi-Wildstyle or sometimes I go Wildstyle, depending on the conditions.
For now, I usually design on paper, canvas, digital and wall. I design a lot on paper because I’m also a freelance architect and currently a student majoring in Civil Engineering. So, I spend more time in front of a desk than outdoors! I go out to paint on special occasions or to have fun with my friends.
What inspires you and where do you look for inspiration?
Inspiration can come from anywhere. Nature is a real example, many colour combinations can be found in animals, plants and flowers. Nature is reflection. So, if you love your nature then the universe will take care of you in its own way.
What advice would you give aspiring artists?
There are no special tips, grab a pen and start the struggle. Don’t fantasize and aim too high at the beginning. Make mistakes so you can learn from them, they’re the things that will make you better day by day! Finally, see you at the top - I’m sure you can do it!
If you could be anything besides an artist, what would it be?
I’m still on my way as an artist, architect and civil engineer!
