Over here in the UK, Mother’s Day (22nd March 2020) is quickly approaching! This is the day that we show our mothers, grandmothers and any mother figures in our lives how much we appreciate them, and what better way to do that than with a homemade card?
If you haven’t got round to making a card yet, don’t worry! We’ve put together this post with eight suggestions of products that you can use to create a beautiful project. Have a browse and see if there’s anything that you think could work.
1. Cascading Alphabet card
There’s no better way to create the perfect word or sentiment on your card than with individual alphabet dies. With the Cascading Alphabets, you’ll be able to create a card just like the one above. You could spell out a name, the word ‘mum’ or ‘thank you’ to show your gratitude. They’re so versatile, so they’re ideal for the occasion.
2. Innerpage Die card
If your mum deserves to put her feet up and kick back, she’ll love the Relax Innerpage Die card in the image above. These dies have been designed to create a reverse decoupage effect, with the words appearing to stack into the card. We love the ‘Relax’ sentiment and the cool colours on this card – it would be great to slot a spa voucher inside!
3. You Are My Sunshine card
Radiant, glowing and beautiful – these are just words that we’d use to describe our mums, but they can also be translated into a card, just like the one above. This fabulous shaker card features a golden sun with beaming rays against a cloudy background, plus a cute ‘You are my sunshine’ sentiment. This is a great card if you’re a bit more of an experienced crafter!
4. Ornate Edge’able handbag card
Show your mother figure that she’s a true princess by using the Ornate Thick Edge’able Dies on your cardmaking projects. The card above is super creative and features the Edge’able as the flap on a card handbag – how pretty does it look? Despite looking pretty complicated, this card is actually pretty simple. Just cut your base to a bag shape, add a handle and the Edge’able flap, and you’re good to go!
5. Precious Memories Waterfall card
Our Precious Memories range was one of our favourite launches from 2019 and it was full of die sets that are perfect for creating memory books. However, they’re also ideal for creating cards that are packed with mementos and keepsakes, just like the one above. Use the Precious Memories Waterfall Card Dies to build a beautiful, mini waterfall flip photo album on the front or inside of your card!
6. Flower Forming Foam card
Giving flowers on Mother’s Day is a popular choice, but why not give flowers that will last in the form of a Flower Forming Foam card. You can add whatever sentiments and embellishments you want, but build your very own 3D flowers to decorate. You can even go simple like with the card above, but no matter what, your foam flowers are guaranteed to catch absolutely anyone’s attention.
7. Double-Sided Floral Delights Die card
On a similar wavelength to the Flower Forming Foam, give a bunch of paper flowers this Mother’s Day so that she can keep them for a lifetime. Try out the Floral Delights Double-Sided Die from the card above, which will produce a stunning bunch of flowers in a little jar. You can colour the flowers in a scheme that your mum would love and add extra embellishments for more fun!
8. Be Fabulous Create-a-Card Stamp and Die card
Last, but certainly not least, we’ve got the gorgeous Be Fabulous Create-a-Card Stamp and Die card. These sets will help you to create a fun dress card that you can add colour, patterns and texture to in order to make a dress that your mum would love to wear. This is a really fun choice and it would be loved by mother figures anywhere!
We hope that this blog post has given you a little bit of inspiration and showed you that there is definitely a world beyond those generic store-bought cards! Have the most lovely Mother’s Day and don’t forget to share photos of your cards with us on Facebook UK, Facebook USA, Twitter, Instagram UK, Instagram US, Pinterest UK or Pinterest US using the hashtag #crafterscompanion.
