Summer Scrapbooking: Step-by-Step Ice Cream-Inspired Layout

There's nothing quite like looking back on sunny days, ice cream treats, and unforgettable summer adventures. This bright and playful scrapbook layout is the perfect way to showcase your favourite summer memories while making the most of the cheerful designs in our Life Is Sweet Collection.
Featuring layered patterned papers, colourful die cuts, and fun dimensional details, this 12" x 12" layout is simple to recreate and can be easily personalised with your own treasured memories.

Linen Cardstock: Pale Pink, Yellow, Cream

Alcohol Markers: TN8, DR5, GB1, AG3

Step 1 – Create Your Background
Begin with a sheet of patterned paper from the Life Is Sweet 12" x 12" Paper Pad.
Using a pencil, lightly draw a soft, drippy, curved line approximately 2 inches from the bottom of the paper to create the look of melting ice cream.
Top Tip: If you'd prefer a perfectly even shape, create a simple stencil from a scrap piece of card measuring at least 12" x 4", then trace around it.
Carefully fussy-cut along the curved line.
Repeat the process on a 6" x 12" strip of the sprinkle-patterned paper.
Adhere the larger patterned panel onto a sheet of 12" x 12" White Cardstock, then position and glue the sprinkle strip approximately 3¾ inches from the top of the page.
Step 2 – Prepare Your Photos
Print six photographs measuring 2" x 2¾".
Mat the photos onto strips of White Cardstock, leaving a narrow border around each photograph and a small gap between each one. The finished photo strip should measure approximately 6¼" x 2⅞".
Step 3 – Die Cut & Add Colour
Using your Gemini Midi, die cut the large 'Sweet' sentiment and ice cream elements.
Cut the pieces from the pale pink, yellow, and cream linen cardstock
Then, bring the die cuts to life by colouring the wafer and cherry using alcohol markers.
Assemble the ice cream die cuts where required using tacky glue.
Step 4 – Create the Sentiment
Stamp your chosen sentiment onto White Cardstock using Black Ink.
Trim the sentiment and attach it to a layer of Pale Pink Linen Cardstock
Step 5 – Assemble Your Layout
Arrange the two photo strips across the page at a slight angle, allowing the right-hand strip to overlap the left for added interest.
Before securing everything completely, tuck the pink ice lolly behind the right-hand photo strip so that it peeks out from underneath.
Position the layered sentiment in the centre of the layout and adhere it in place.
Attach the assembled ice cream beside the sentiment using 3D Foam Pads to create extra dimension.
Add the coloured cherry to the far-left photograph as a fun finishing detail.
Finally, adhere the layered 'Sweet' die cut above the left-hand photo strip using 3D Foam Pads to give your title extra lift.
